Light ‘Em Up

Marines with Battery K fire 120 mm mortars June 21. The battery provides artillery and indirect fire for Battalion Landing Team 3/1, the ground-combat element of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Pass in Review

Retired Sgt. Maj. of the Marine Corps Carlton W. Kent and newly appointed Sgt. Maj. of the Marine Corps Micheal Barrett salute during the pass-and-review portion of the relief and appointment ceremony June 9, at Marine Barracks Washington. Sgt. Thomas Salima, a native of Pago Pago, American Samoa, and Cpl. Anthony Brewer, from Pittsburgh, heave 'Lola' along an exercise circuit here, June 21. Salima, an RCT-1 intelligence analyst; Brewer, an infantryman with the RCT-1 Personal Security Detachment, and nine other Marines here labored with Lola, a 200-pound tire, each day during an 18-day Marine Corps Martial Corps Martial Arts Program Instructor Course. Problem, Officer?

A Marine with 3rd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment lands a punch on a St. Louis police officer at the "First to Fight" amateur boxing tournament. At this tournament, Marines and St. Louis police and firefighters go toe-to-toe at the Scottstrade Center in St. louis, June 20 with all proceeds benefitting Backstoppers, Semper Fi Foundation and Toys for Tots.
